Photography assistant volunteers
We’re looking for volunteer photography assistants to help support upcoming Queer Friendships photoshoots.
The role is mostly about helping create a calm and welcoming environment, while assisting with basic studio set-up, lighting support, and keeping an eye on framing and the set while I focus on directing and photographing participants.
You do not need to be available for every date to apply.

There may also be opportunities to assist with taking photographs during some sessions, depending on experience and interest.
You’ll be assisting alongside me and Zoe (they/them), who is also a creative practitioner and photographer.
The atmosphere will be collaborative, supportive and pretty relaxed.
Who can apply
LGBTQIA+ people are especially encouraged to apply, though allies are also welcome. Photography experience is helpful but definitely not essential.
Credits
Assistants will be credited on the project website, social media and exhibition materials where appropriate.
